A school hostel, also known as a boarding house or dormitory, is a residential facility provided by schools to accommodate students who need to live away from home to attend school.

The purpose of a school hostel is to provide a safe and secure environment for students to live in while they attend school. Hostels are typically staffed by trained professionals who are responsible for the students' welfare and well-being. They also provide supervision and support to students during their academic and personal development.

School hostels usually have shared living spaces such as bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, and dining facilities. Students typically live in rooms with one or more roommates, and meals are provided in a communal dining area. Hostels also offer facilities such as study areas, libraries, sports facilities, and recreational areas to help students balance their academic and social lives.

The cost of staying in a school hostel varies depending on the school, location, and the type of accommodation provided. Some schools offer financial assistance to students who are unable to afford the cost of living in a hostel.

Overall, school hostels provide a convenient and safe option for students who live far away from school or who prefer to live on campus. They offer a unique opportunity for students to develop their independence, social skills, and self-discipline, while also benefiting from the academic and personal support provided by the school staff.
